Do I need to have a bachelor's degree?
Yes, if you want to enter a masters degree or certificate program. The Bachelor
of Theology and Associate of Church Ministry are intended for people who have ministry
experience but do not have a bachelor's degree. You can also audit classes
without a bachelor's degree. Please talk to the registrar about your situation.

Is financial aid available?
Yes. Members of Colonial Baptist Church as well as members of churches in the
Carolina Faith Association receive a 25% discount on tuition. There are limited funds for scholarships to current students. We encourage you to contact your home church for tuition assistance.

Is Shepherds Theological Seminary accredited?
Shepherds Theological Seminary is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) [PO Box 328, Forest, VA 24551; Telephone: 434.525.9539; e-mail: info@tracs.org] having been awarded Accredited status as a Category III institution by the TRACS Accreditation Commission on November 2, 2009; this status is effective for a period of five years. TRACS is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

Is Shepherds affiliated with a denomination?
No, Shepherds is not affiliated with any denomination. The seminary was started
under the guidance of Colonial Baptist Church, which is independent. Colonial recently celebrated its 22nd Anniversary.

Is Distance Learning available?
Yes, we are currently digitally recording classes to provide distance learning courses. We now have available our core Bible, theology, history, and some elective courses. We are using mostly DVD technology to provide the courses. Click here for available classes.
